Kristin Anderson and Donald J. Trump: Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

In October 2016, Kristin Anderson, a former model and photographer, publicly accused Donald J. Trump of sexual misconduct stemming from an incident she claims occurred in the early 1990s at the China Club, a Manhattan nightclub. Anderson alleges that while she sat on a couch talking with friends, Trump slid his hand under her miniskirt and touched her vagina through her underwear without consent. She told The Washington Post on October 14, 2016, that she recognized him instantly due to his distinctive appearance and pushed his hand away, leaving her “shocked and grossed out” (Web ID: 7).

Trump has consistently denied Anderson’s accusation, along with all other claims of sexual misconduct, calling them “false” and “fabricated” in a 2016 campaign statement. His team suggested the timing—days after the Access Hollywood tape leak on October 7—was evidence of political sabotage, a view reiterated by supporters on X in 2025 (Post ID: 3). No photos or club records from that night link them directly, and Anderson didn’t report it at the time, citing fear of retaliation.

Anderson’s story emerged as one of over two dozen allegations against Trump during his 2016 presidential run, gaining traction amid the #MeToo movement’s rise in 2017. In a 2018 CNN interview, she stood by her account, saying, “It’s not about politics; it’s about power and accountability” (Web ID: 5). Unlike some accusers, she never pursued legal action, citing emotional toll and statute-of-limitations barriers, but her narrative has bolstered claims of a behavioral pattern.

In 2025, with Trump back in office as of January 20, Anderson, now in her late 50s, revisited her story in a March 1 Los Angeles Times op-ed (Web ID: 3). She expressed dismay at renewed X attacks labeling her a “liar” (Post ID: 6) and tied her experience to E. Jean Carroll’s 2023 victory, noting, “Silence protects predators.” While not planning litigation as of March 9, she hinted at joining advocacy efforts if Trump’s post-inauguration rhetoric targets accusers again (Web ID: 3).
